After accessing WordPress Toolkit via <a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/en\/artikel\/how-do-i-access-wordpress-toolkit\/\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"12674\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">these instructions<\/a> for the first time, you&#8217;ll see the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_install_or_scan_en.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"523\" height=\"391\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_install_or_scan_en.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12778\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Below we will describe both you you install WordPress from scratch, and also you how you import installations you already have on the account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Install WordPress from scratch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To create a brand new WordPress installation, begin by clicking the <code>Install<\/code> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_install.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"472\" height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_install.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12780\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A box will appear where you get to customise your new installation. WordPress Toolkit will randomise a few of the settings, but of course you can set them up as you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_new_installation.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"739\" height=\"735\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_new_installation.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12782\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The different settings imply the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Installation path<\/strong>: The URL you want to be able to reach the installation via. Choose if you want to use http or https (we always recommend https), what domain should be used, and if the installation shall be installed in a subfolder on the domain. Of course you can install WordPress directly on the domain if you wish, just leave the text field empty. In the example above, WordPress will be installed on <code>https:\/\/exempel.se\/wordpress<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">If you cannot find the domain you want to use in the dropdown menu, you need to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/en\/?post_type=ht_kb&amp;p=4526\" target=\"_blank\">add the domain to the account<\/a> first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Website title<\/strong>: The title of your website. Set this to anything you want.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plugin\/theme set<\/strong>: Here you may choose among a few preconfigured sets of plugins and themes for your installation. If you select a set in the dropdown menu you may see the content of that specific set by clicking the <code>i<\/code> to the right of the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Website language<\/strong>: The language for your new website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Version<\/strong>: Here you can specify what version of WordPress to install. If you don&#8217;t know that you need a certain version due to requirements from a theme or plugin, we recommend that you use the latest version.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Username<\/strong>: The username for the admin account for the installation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-danger\">Due to security reasons, you should never use &#8220;admin&#8221; as the admin user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Password<\/strong>: The password for your admin user. You can set a password on your own, or generate one automatically. If you select an autogenerated one, click the eye icon to see the password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Email<\/strong>: The email address for the admin user.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the headings <strong>Database<\/strong> and <strong>Automatic update settings<\/strong> you can do additional customisations of your installation. However, the default settings for those should suit most users and installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you&#8217;re done with your settings, click the <code>Install<\/code> button. WordPress Toolkit will now begin installation, and you&#8217;ll be able to follow the progress in the grey box by the bottom right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_installing.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"321\" height=\"125\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_installing.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12784\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the installation is complete, you&#8217;ll get a popup message telling you so. It&#8217;ll also offer you to install plugins and selecting a theme, however, this is optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_installation_done.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"632\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_installation_done.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12786\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When you&#8217;re done installing themes and plugins, your WordPress installation is ready to be used!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Import previous WordPress installations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;ve installed WordPress on your web hosting account previously (either via <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/en\/artikel\/how-do-i-install-wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\">Softaculous<\/a> or manually) and want to manage the installation via WordPress Toolkit, you may import those installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">If your WordPress installation was previously connected to WordPress Toolkit but you have chosen to &#8220;Detach&#8221; it from WPTK, a file is created in the root of the site called <code>.wptk-ignore<\/code>. If you want the installation to be readded by WPTK, delete that file before proceeding as described below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To import installations already available on your web hosting account, click the <code>Scan<\/code> button in WordPress Toolkit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_scan.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"472\" height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cpanel_wptk_scan.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12788\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">When WordPress Toolkit scans the account, all WordPress installations available on the account will be added. You can choose to detach any of them at any moment if you don&#8217;t wish to manage them via WordPress Toolkit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the scan is completed, you&#8217;ll see all WordPress installations on your account in the list in the WordPress Toolkit interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-danger\">Please note, if you&#8217;re running <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/supporttest.hemsida.eu\/en\/artikel\/how-do-i-manage-php\/#how-do-i-change-php-version\" target=\"_blank\">PHP 8.0<\/a> on any of your WordPress installations, WordPress Toolkit will give you an error message regarding that a found installation appears to be broken.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To be able to manage WordPress installations on your web hosting account via WordPress Toolkit, they first need to be either imported (if you have any installations since earlier), or be installed directly via the tool.
