Our servers run MariaDB<\/a>, but\u00a0cPanel\u00a0still refers to the database functions as\u00a0MySQL, which is why it is stated as such in the interface. For the sake of accuracy, however, the instructions here will refer to the database engine as MariaDB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By default, access to your databases is only enabled for localhost. Sometimes, however, it’s necessary to connect to a database on our servers from another remote server\/computer. This is managed via cPanel, where you may grant access from the IP address from which you wish to connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. First, log on to cPanel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Then, click the icon Remote MySQL<\/code>.

  3. Under Add Access Host<\/code>, enter the IP address from where you wish to connect. You can check your IP address by visiting ipnummer.org<\/a> from the server\/computer you wish to connect from. Enter the IP address under Host<\/code>. You may add a comment if you’d like, but its optional.
